Kiamichi Economic Development District (KEDDO)

About Kiamichi Economic Development District (KEDDO):

KEDDO was founded in 1967 after a group of local civic and business leaders met and petitioned the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for funding of a local organization to accomplish overall economic planning and development for the seven-county region of Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha Counties.

KEDDO is a legal trust authority set up to assist people in Southeastern Oklahoma to plan and promote growth and development for the seven-county area. The organization is directed by a Board of Trustees of persons from each of the counties. The financing for KEDDO is a cooperative effort between Federal, State, and Local Governments.

Companion pet cat success story image

Partner Success Story

KEDDO Area Agency on Aging provided a booth at the Stigler Health and Wellness Fair. They displayed the assistive devices and the companion cat was a huge hit. At the event, a woman had an in-depth visit with us regarding the companion pet cat. She had currently moved her mother-in-law into her home and felt she needed something to keep her loved one company during the day. She immediately purchased an interactive companion cat.

Upon follow up, she said the pet companion has been worth every penny and then some. It brings much joy to her mother-in-law. She was very appreciative of the information that was provided.
