Gwendolyn Strong Foundation

Purpose

The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation’s SMA Community Grant makes financial grant contributions toward uncovered, tangible expenses associated with the challenges of spinal muscular atrophy.  SMA Community Grants will only cover a portion of the total cost, must be for something tangible that it typically not covered by insurance and/or other resources, and applicants must be actively fundraising to cover the rest.

Pieces of the Puzzle

  • The applicant, or others on their behalf, MUST be actively fundraising for the purpose of the grant.
  • Because expenses are so great, applicants are asked to concurrently raise money for themselves through local community fundraisers.
  • Applicants will be asked to include a link or flyer to their personal fundraising efforts and how much has already been raised.
  • The goal of SMA Community Grants is to help fill in those gaps for uncovered expenses.
