Purpose
The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation’s SMA Community Grant makes financial grant contributions toward uncovered, tangible expenses associated with the challenges of spinal muscular atrophy. SMA Community Grants will only cover a portion of the total cost, must be for something tangible that it typically not covered by insurance and/or other resources, and applicants must be actively fundraising to cover the rest.

Pieces of the Puzzle
- The applicant, or others on their behalf, MUST be actively fundraising for the purpose of the grant.
- Because expenses are so great, applicants are asked to concurrently raise money for themselves through local community fundraisers.
- Applicants will be asked to include a link or flyer to their personal fundraising efforts and how much has already been raised.
- The goal of SMA Community Grants is to help fill in those gaps for uncovered expenses.
