October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! This month celebrates and recognizes the contributions of American workers with disabilities, both past and present, and sheds light on the supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees. In spite of employment barriers, 1,158 Oklahomans with disabilities began earning paychecks last year, thanks to their initiatives and employment services provided by the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services adult programs Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired divisions.
