ABLE Tech collaborates with the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) as a durable medical equipment (DME) provider for vending of iPads, apps, and durable cases as speech-generating devices (SGD) to eligible members. Sandra Wright-Hackler, ABLE Tech Program Manager, will explain which apps are approved as speech generating devices, and share her insights on writing successful applications.

Cody is an 8-year-old from Comanche County and is receiving services through the Moore Autism Center. He has used the short-term loan program to trial a NovaChat for communication. It has helped him to request preferred items, label items, and engage in activities with others.
