This program, supported by a grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and a partnership with SoonerSuccess, Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council and Oklahoma ABLE Tech, provides equipment to parents with disabilities or physical limitations that increases the ease and safety of baby care tasks. This equipment is available for loan until the family is able to purchase the item or until they no longer need it.

Oklahoma Launches ABLE Act Program for In-State Residents
On June 19, the State of Oklahoma launched their ABLE Act program. The Oklahoma ABLE Act program, named “Oklahoma STABLE”, will be administered through the Oklahoma Department of Treasury which established a partnership with Ohio STABLE Accounts, which are backed by Intuition ABLE Solutions, LLC, and will be managed by Vanguard Group, Inc. and Fifth Third Bank. Oklahoma STABLE Accounts will only be available to eligible Oklahoma residents with disabilities.
Oklahoma STABLE allows qualified individuals with disabilities to save up to $15,000 a year in an ABLE Act account without jeopardizing their eligibility for federal means-tested benefits, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid. The funds in the account can be used for disability-related expenses that assist the beneficiary in increasing and/or maintaining his or her health, independence or quality of life. Spotlight on Success
Daron came to The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital (TCCRH) unable to control any aspect of his environment. By use of his microlite switch he was able to turn on his wheelchair and navigate through the different modes. With the use of his microlite switch, along with the blue2 adapter, he was able to control the Fire Stick TV app on an iPad which gave him control over his TV.
This technology provided him some independence in his everyday life! Daron and his family were extremely thankful for the ABLE Tech program and TCCRH for the assistive technology that he found beneficial.
