New Oklahoma Council for Exceptional Children and Oklahoma AHEAD Spring Conference
The Oklahoma Council for Exceptional Children and the Oklahoma Association of Higher Education and Disability (OK-AHEAD) have partnered with the Oklahoma State Department of Education to bring us their Spring Conference in Owasso on March 30th and March 31st. The conference theme is Transition, Where K-12 Meets Postsecondary. Read more details from OK-AHEAD.
Section 508 Refresh Process is Complete
After many years of work, public comment and tweaking, the update to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act is complete and the final Section 508 Rule is published. Section 508 guides federal agencies that procure information and communication technology, providing standards and scoping information. It has been a long time coming, but the new Rule goes into effect in January of 2018.
Sarah Bourne from Massachusetts put together an excellent view of what is different about the new Section 508.
It's Back! WAVE Extension for Firefox Returns
For the last few years, the WAVE accessibility toolbar was only available for the Chrome browser. The tool is again available for Firefox. This is one of the most helpful tools that you can have if you test web sites for accessibility! Download the WAVE Extension from the Mozilla store.
