Access for All Weekly Tip
For the week of October 8 - 12
The iPad has become a very popular tool for individuals with disabilities because there are so many applications, or apps, that can be used to aid in everyday living skills.
iPads are praised as a terrific tool for people with disabilities. Using an iPad, visually impaired persons can now translate written words to verbal with one touch; individuals with dyslexia or other reading disorders can complete work using only their voice; and those with autism can find alternative ways to express their thoughts and feelings.
Powerful assistive features are built into an iPad to complement your vision, hearing, motor skills, learning, and literacy. So you can create, learn, work, play, and do pretty much anything you want to do, wherever you want to do it, more easily than ever.
Not many people realize though that there are a number of accessories produced for the iPad, specifically for disabled users. ABLE Tech has several devices that are available in our loan inventory.
