October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Each October we have an opportunity to focus more energy to making sure that we include people with disabilities in our workforce. National Disability Employment Awareness Month runs the month of October. Learn about activities and ideas that you can take advantage of.

Accessible Technology in STEM Education

EdTech magazine writes about the opportunities that accessible classroom technology has to include more students with disabilities in vital Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) coursework. With such an emphasis on STEM education in Oklahoma and the increasing demand for STEM graduates, including students with disabilities in these programs is as vital as ever.

Reasonable Accommodation Search from JAN

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) provides Searchable Online Accommodation Resource, or SOAR. SOAR is a web-based widget that lets you find accommodation ideas quickly and easily. SOAR is a great resource for anyone that needs some ideas about how to best accommodate Job Seekers in any phase of employment or in providing services directly through Oklahoma Works.
