The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital 

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children and teens and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. In addition to inpatient complex care and rehabilitation, the hospital offers unique specialty services such as pediatric physiatry, pediatric neuropsychology, pediatric orthopedics, a home ventilator program, and outpatient therapy clinics.

Exciting recent developments at the hospital include the opening of a community compounding pharmacy and a state-of-the-art Adaptive Recreation and Fine Arts Center with an adaptive playground and ballfield slated to open later this year. These facilities expand the hospital’s reach into the surrounding community and offer children with differing abilities opportunities to participate in therapies, arts, and recreational activities.

Access to the latest assistive technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices through the partnership with ABLE Tech supports the hospital’s mission of maximizing the potential of every child by providing excellent pediatric medical and rehabilitative services, and a smooth transition from hospital to home. It enables the hospital care team to demonstrate and trial AT/AAC equipment with a patient and their family to ensure the equipment meets their needs prior to securing funding.  Short-term loans of equipment through ABLE Tech allow patients to utilize the equipment outside of the therapeutic setting in “day-to-day” activities to ensure the equipment is the right fit for patients and families to achieve their goals.
