Oklahoma Workforce Centers and Partners
ABLE Tech is proud to partner with Oklahoma's Department of Rehabiliatation Services to provide training and technical assistance to Oklahoma's Workforce System Partners.
After a morning workshop on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility in the built environment, ABLE Tech provided an afternoon workshop. The workshop focused on high level concepts of digital accessibility, document accessibility and multimedia accessibility. This was one of two such workshops, with the second for this audience coming up in December, 2013.

ABLE Tech also presented a session at the 2014 Oklahoma Workforce System Conference in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The discussion touched on the huge disparity in employment, poverty and median income between people with disabilities and poeple without disabilities. Then we talked about some of the things that we are excited to bring into the Workforce System Partnership Certification Process over the next few years.

Accessibility in Public Information
In state government, the Public Information Officer has a huge responsibility to keep the public informed and aware of what a given state agency does. This session put accessibility into a context that the Public Information Officers appreciated. We also discussed the critical importance of accessibility in emergency communications.

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center ED Tech Tuesday, May, 2013
OU's Health Sciences Center put on a pilot program with a focus on technology in education. Speakers were invited to present information on different aspects of technology. ABLE Tech introduced digital accessibility and provided a brief introduction to accessibility in Microsoft Word 2010. This gave participants a frame of reference in accessibility and some techniques to begin to incorporate accessible design into their work.
