Oklahoma ABLE Tech is the state of Oklahoma's Assistive Technology Act Program. ABLE Tech is a federally funded program that helps people with disabilities and aging individuals acquire needed durable medical equipment (DME) and assistive technology (AT) to live their lives more independently.
One of the ways this is done is through the Device Reutilization Program. This program is 100% operated through community donations. Without community donations, ABLE Tech does not have a robust inventory and waitlists continue to grow.
Currently, the following donations are needed to clear the DME waitlist:
- 9 bedside tables
- 30 blood pressure monitors
- 34 lift chairs
- 5 pulse oximeters
- 10 trapeze bars
- 10 bath benches
- 7 BiPAPs
- 32 CPAPs
- 2 bedside commodes
- 2 gait trainers
- 7 hospital beds
- 2 patient lifts
- 6 quad canes
- 11 scooters
- 46 shower chairs
- 1 stander
- 18 four-wheeled walkers
- 9 knee walkers
- 7 power wheelchairs
- 43 manual wheelchairs
- 30 raised toilet seats
- 34 grab bars
If you’re counting with us, there are 355 devices that, if acquired, would change the lives of more than 300 Oklahomans. We did the math and with just $10,000, the waitlist can be cleared entirely.
